Oooh I love mother of pearl! The m.o.p. flowers are coming back this year - they're all over the place on the jewellery counters this year. There's even one on my evening bag. I also love abalone.
Isn't "mother of pearl" an odd phrase when you really listen to it? I prefer it to pearl though!
Thank you for allowing us to feast our eyes! I will try to get you more visitors if you like.
Mother of pearl is quite lovely with its milky sheen. My problem is again trying to find nice pieces that aren't made of small MOP chips and aren't overpriced! Though, I really like pearls, too.
Have you seen/heard of osmena pearls?
I love posting eye candy. :) Eventually I'll run out of pictures, but visitors who like to ogle at jewelry are certainly welcome!
My dear, the moonstone is one of my favorite stones out there. I'll have a posting on moonstone soon!
An osmena pearl is basically the inner most portion of a nautilus shell. They have the sheen of pearls/MOPs but are usually blue/grey/green/combo of the above in color, sort of like portions of the abalone. Here's a link to some osmena pearl jewelry: http://www.silver-insanity.com/product_p/12672.htm

Osmena pearls? Do tell!
If you like milky sheen, what about moonstone? I have one in a cabochon shape.
